About MOSHI Alarm Clocks

About Moshi

Alarm clocks frustrate us too.

The first alarm clock was invented in 16th century and people have been despising it ever since. Ellen DeGenres put it best, "New alarm clocks are complicated with 6 buttons that look exactly alike on the back…In the morning when the alarm goes off, I start to panic. It's like diffusing a bomb all of a sudden. Forget about the buttons, I'm thinking about which wire to cut and trying to remember old MacGyver episodes. Get me a mirror, three paperclips and some turpentine, quick!"

The love of sleep.

Like almost everyone, we love to sleep and hate to wake up. In 2003, Moshi was founded in Woodland Hills, California with the goal of enhancing your sleeping experience, whether you are going to sleep or waking up. Need a nature sound to ease you into sleep? No problem, we have you in mind. Want to yell at your alarm to stop beeping in the morning? We can do that, too.

We are button haters.

Setting your alarm clock with buttons is what we like to call a "game of finger Twister". You have to hold down a button as you push two more to actually set the alarm. At first, the alarm time adjusts slowly then all of a sudden it hits warp speed and your 27 minutes past your wake time. Instead, you can just lie in bed and tell Moshi at what time you want to be woken up. After all, you are about to go to sleep after a long day, and you deserve to take it easy.

Technology That Listens™

When was the last time your alarm clock cared about what you had to say? When you yell at your alarm clock to turn off, it rudely ignores you. Thankfully, that's not Moshi. Moshi cares. Moshi listens. Want to learn more about how we make our clocks magical? Visit the Technology That Listens™ section.

New Era of Alarm Clocks

The definition of technology is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. But doesn't it seem like in the evolution of electronics, it becomes more complicated and less practical? Moshi is founded on the belief that electronics should work for you and not against you. Call us innovators, lunatics or Jetson wannabes, but at the end of the day we promote simplicity. Just talk to your clock and it will listen, as all electronics should. It can really be that simple. Welcome to the Moshi Lifestyle.
